Women Empower X, or WEX, is the premier event for entrepreneurs, change-makers, go-getters, creatives, industry leaders, and any woman who has a dream and a mission to turn her ideas into reality. Held from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, these events equip women with the knowledge, tools and connections to take their business and life to the next level.

I was fortunate enough to land the opportunity to work with the team and assist with growing the brand. Being able to be part of a larger team where we collaboratively work to launch designs for content and social was a great learning experience. I've taken a lot from my time at WEX including being able to work better under deadlines, in team environments, and fast-pace startup settings.

Objective

Work alongside with the Creative Director to create on-brand content. Including but not limited to graphics, animations, stickers for IG Stories & more. Produce designs for other outlets such as Facebook Ads and Print. Assist with finding creative ways to expand the brand.

Full Speed Ahead

While still maintaining the core WEX brand, each event had its own unique look. Followers of WEX were able to recognize each event whether it was WEXDC or WEXLA through that aesthetic alone. Leading up to every event were countdown graphics for Facebook and Instagram. Announcements of the speakers and guests themselves were also created and posted on official social channels.

Planning of where WEX would be heading next began almost immediately before the current event had ended. This created a fast paced environment where the work for the current event had to be created and maintained yet planning for the next would happen simultaneously. Through this I was able to establish an effective workflow of getting content produced and ready for distribution.

WEX GIPHY Stickers

Outside of word of mouth, Facebook advertising, and regular promoting via social posts, it can be a struggle finding other ways to attract new attendees. A method that yielded great results were official WEX GIPHY stickers.

By using these in official Instagram and Facebook stories, along with promoting their use, it resulted in followers of the event to start using them. Their followers seeing them in their stories ultimately created small chains of growth. The use of the stickers spread rapidly and overall saw 15 million+ views. They are still available today under "WEX" and other key terms.
